Achieving a Successful Retirement Part 2: We’re Living Longer
Hi, I’m Chad Ekren. Thanks for joining us!
According to Stats Canada, in 2011 the average retirement age was 62 years. Do you have any idea how long we need to plan for our retirement?
According to the 2012 report from the Society of Actuaries
The Joint Life Expectancy of an average 65 year old couple today is 92! This means there is a 50% chance that at least one spouse could live for 30 years or longer in retirement!
Why is this important? Because believing that we are living longer is foundational to determining your SUCCESSFUL RETIREMENT Number, that is, the amount of capital you need to accumulate to produce “a lifestyle-sustaining income and a legacy for those you love”.
Without this understanding, there is a high probability that you will end up fighting the wrong risk in retirement.
Before you go, I’d like to ask you this important question:
Do you know YOUR Successful Retirement Number?
- It’s our goal to: Help people like you determine this important Number and to lay out a plan on how to achieve it. We invite you to sit with us to help you figure this out, at no cost and no obligation.
- Give us a call if you’d like our help or watch the next video.
